YACHATS — Yachats city manager Bobbi Price received a $10,000 pay raise along with praise from the city council Thursday for her performance eight months into the job.
Price, the former director of the Yachats Area Chamber of Commerce, had no previous city manager experience when she was chosen over two other candidates to lead the city in October 2023.
Mayor Craig Berdie noted the increase brings Price’s salary – which is now $125,000 a year – more in line with that of other city managers in the area.
To effectively evaluate the city manager’s performance, council members gathered input from citizens, commission members, city employees and the council. The council discussed the evaluation in executive (closed) session Thursday then came into public session to announce the results and vote on the raise.
“We are delighted to announce that due to the exceptional performance noted by all city constituents, we are offering the city manager a raise of $10,000,” Berdie said. “This brings her salary closer to that of other city managers in our area and is well-deserved. Thank you, Bobbi for your exceptional, measurable performance.”
The performance review was based on the city manager’s job description and expectations outlined when she was hired. Price is eligible to receive a 4 percent cost-of-living increase in July and another raise contingent upon her evaluation after a year on the job.

Well done City Council. Bobbi has shown herself to be resilient, resourceful, and able to wade through the myriad of issues she inherited. All while being professional and personable.
Yachats lucked out to have had her here and willing to take on the position.
Thank you City Council and Bobbi Price for all the good work.
