Oregon Coast Community College has released its lineup of community education classes for Spring term beginning this month and going through June.
The schedule features more than 50 classes and workshops, including a first-time workshop series from Yakona Nature Preserve and the Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District. Also on the schedule – for only the second time in 10 years – is SCUBA certification.
The lineup features a choice of creative writing courses, a variety of hands-on art and music courses. There are also returning favorite classes like mussel harvesting – which is held on the beach and featuring not only instruction on how and where to harvest fresh mussels, but also suggestions how to cook them. Irish music enthusiasts can learn to Play the Pennywhistle, experience traditional Irish music, or enroll in an Irish dancing class for adults.
Cost and schedules vary by class. The full schedule with dates and prices are on the college’s website. www.oregoncoast.edu/communityed
