YACHATS — The public is invited to attend an open house from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 to share opinions about the city’s plans around incorporating renewable energy into a self-sustaining civic campus.
The Oregon Department of Energy awarded Yachats a $100,000 grant to help plan and study incorporating renewable energy and emergency preparedness to help reduce risks to the city. The focus for improvements center on the 15 acres that encompasses city hall, the library, Commons, wastewater treatment facility, pavilion and park.
What renewable energy projects should be priorities? Participants in the Thursday meeting are asked to share their needs and goals for how the Yachats might support them in an emergency and/or might enhance community activities with improved amenities.
The open house will take place in the Commons multipurpose room. Food and refreshments will be available.
People interested in attending are asked to RSVP via this link and to also take a survey. For more information on the planning effort go to the city’s website here.
