YACHATS — Yachats residents are invited to share the attributes and experience they would like to see in the next city manager during an upcoming virtual meeting.
The online session via Zoom is at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 29 and will be facilitated by Jensen Strategies, a municipal government recruitment firm based in Portland.
The firm was chosen by the city council in May to assist in finding a permanent manager to replace Heide Lambert, who resigned May 31. Lambert was hired after the council conducted its own search last year.
Upon hiring Jensen, the council requested the firm speed up their proposed 18-week hiring process as well as reduce its $26,500 fee and $6,000 in estimated expenses.

The public is also invited to a “welcoming” meet-and-greet with new interim city manager Rick Sant that will be held at the Yachats Common Pavilion behind city hall from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, June 30.
Sant, 68, who started June 2, is a former southern California newspaper manager who has lived in Yachats for three years. Mayor Craig Berdie will provide opening remarks followed by a few words from Sant. Food and beverage will be available.
