After community meetings and an online survey, Lincoln County Public Health has selected three priorities to guide the work of the agency and its partners for the next five years.
The priorities are:
- Healthy lifestyles: Will focus on nutrition/food access, physical activity, smoking, and people’s ability to achieve a healthy lifestyle;
- Mental health: Will focus on our communities’ ability to encourage good mental health and support people experiencing poor mental health;
- Substance abuse prevention: Will focus on substance misuse and abuse, as well as support for people living with substance use disorders.
The agency is forming community workgroups for each priority area to identify opportunities to improve health, select goals, strategies, and activities to guide this work, and support the work by meeting regularly to share knowledge, align activities, and overcome challenges.
Anyone who lives or works in Lincoln County is welcome to participate in the workgroups. The agency asks that people interested in getting involved fill out a short online survey at by Aug. 9.
