FLORENCE – Plug-in electric vehicles from at least 11 manufacturers will be on display from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday during an electric vehicle show sponsored by Central Lincoln Peoples Utility District and U.S. Bank.
The vehicles will be on display and their owners available to talk about them in the lot adjacent to Johnson Ford on U.S. Highway 101. The first 200 persons who attend will receive a free street taco from Florence’s popular Game Thyme Food Truck.
Plug-in electric vehicles from Arcimoto, Chevrolet, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Mini-Cooper, Nissan, Rivian, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volvo, and Volkswagen are scheduled to be on display. Test drives will be available in a Tesla Model Y, and test rides will be available in a Volkswagen ID4 SUV.
There will also be a section of plug-in gas-electric hybrids from Chevrolet, Kia, Subaru, and Toyota.
“There are more than 500 plug-in electric vehicles registered to central coast residents,” said event coordinator Chris Chandler. “Many people don’t know that a majority of electric cars look just like gas-powered vehicles. But electric vehicles are quieter and are much cheaper to drive and maintain.”
