WALDPORT – There are two health-related events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at the main station of the Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue District in downtown Waldport.
The Lincoln County Partnership Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will be there so people can turn in their unused or expired medications for safe disposal, instead of putting them in a landfill or dumping into the sewer system.
Staff from the county’s public health department will also be there at the same time for a COVID-19 vaccine clinic. No appointments are necessary to get either the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine or the two shot Moderna or Pfizer vaccines. The Pfizer vaccine is approved for children age 12 and over; the other two for people 18 and older.
The county is now offering free COVID-19 tests at all its mobile vaccine clinics.
