Do you have a Yachats-area business and need vinyl gloves to protect employees and customers? The Yachats Chamber has 14,000 of them.
Need masks too? The chamber has 18,000.
How about thermometers? Sanitizer? Or disinfecting wipes?
Yep, the chamber has those.
In fact, it has a pallet of personal protective equipment ready to give away to Yachats-area businesses, courtesy of a federal coronavirus relief program and Business Oregon, the state’s economic development agency.
A pallet of boxes filled with the items arrived Monday and is being stored at the Adobe motel. Businesses can email chamber director Joan Davies at joanvdavies@yahoo.com to set up pickup times and days.
Davies said she wants to start getting the items out to businesses – you don’t have to be a chamber member — as soon as possible.
“Some businesses have stocked up OK, but others have struggled to get supplies,” she said. “And, prices for some things have doubled the past year.”
Davies started as chamber director last month and has been busy getting its office open downtown. She heard about the PPE program while visiting the Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce and called Business Oregon to see if the Yachats chamber could still join in.
So, what is the chamber offering? How about: 14,000 gloves in four different sizes, 18,000 masks, 144 bottles of 75 percent alcohol, 80 touchless thermometers, six stands to hold sanitizer dispensers, 12 one gallon bottles of sanitizer, 24 two liter bottles of sanitizer, 72 packs of 80-count disinfectant wipes and 96 packs of 50-count alcohol wipes.
