Narrative Summary
Unit #1, a semi truck and trailer were southbound on Hwy 101 near MP 129 when it approached a crash scene and could not slow. It drove into the oncoming lane to avoid crashing into the stopped traffic ahead. While doing so, it encountered unit #2, a black van headed northbound, and they sideswiped each other. No injuries reported at the scene. Unit #2 was towed by Rowleys Towing.

Narrative Summary
E-Crash: A Chevrolet truck was northbound on US-101 behind a red sedan. The red sedan began taking a left turn and slowing. The Chevrolet was slowing and continued northbound around the red sedan. At this time a light blue Nissan truck driving behind the Chevrolet attempted to go around on the right and had struck the front right portion of the Chevrolet. The driver of the Chevrolet continued northbound while being followed by the Nissan. The driver of the Nissan had lost control on the wet roadway near milepost 131 on US-101 and had struck guardrail on the southbound shoulder. During contact the young driver did not have insurance on his truck. The driver was issued a citation for not having insurance and for unsafe passing on the right where it struck the Chevrolet. It was determined the driver of the Nissan did not likely know he had made contact with the Chevrolet. The driver of the Nissan truck made his own tow arrangements.

E-Crash: A Chevrolet Colorado was being driven northbound with a Toyota Tacoma following to the rear. A car a few vehicles in front of the Colorado had stopped to turn left into a driveway access. The Chevrolet Colorado was slowing. The Toyota was unable to slow quick enough and crashed into the rear end of the Chevrolet. Tows were not needed. No injuries were reported.

Narrative Summary
Log Only: A Honda Civic was driving northbound on US-101 and had stopped to turn left into a highway pullout. While the Honda driver waited for a gap in southbound traffic, a northbound traveling Saturn Vue did not stop in time and had crashed into the back left portion of the Honda. The Honda went off the roadway but had received minor damages estimated under $2500. The Saturn had received minor damages estimated under $2500. A tow had been arranged by the drivers to pull the Honda out of its stuck position, but remained drivable. No injuries were reported.

Narrative Summary
E-Crash: A semi-truck attached with a full trailer was being driven southbound on US-101 and near milepost 135.5 the driver had begun driving outside of its lane towards the southbound shoulder. The semi-truck went into a small ditch and eventually overturned. The driver was alone and was uninjured. The driver was issued a citation for failing to drive in his lane. AA Towing out of Albany had responded to remove the semi-truck and trailer. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Newport Fire Department, Pacific West Ambulance, and ODOT Incident Response assisted the Oregon State Police on-scene. The roadway had been shut down for the first half-hour.
