Traffic Crimes – All Except DUII
Location 101 and 229, OR
Narrative Summary
On 2/21/21 I was dispatched to a two vehicle crash which occurred at the intersection of US 101 and SR 229. Unit #1, a white Subaru, was northbound on US 101 at a high rate of speed and had just passed two vehicles when it attempted to turn right abruptly onto SR 229. Unit #1 lost traction and slid across the opposing lane of SR-229 and stuck Unit #2, a white Chrysler, on the rear driver side as it was stopped and waiting to enter traffic on US 101. Unit #2 spun counterclockwise and came to an uncontrolled rest blocking the northbound lane of SR 229. Unit #1 came to an uncontrolled rest on the northbound shoulder on US 101. Multiple witnesses reported the driver of unit #1 was driving recklessly and endangering others just prior to the crash. Driver #1 was cited and released for Reckless Driving and Recklessly Endangering a Person.
