eCrash – On 2/12/21 at approximately 230PM an eastbound vehicle left the roadway near milepost 25 of Highway 34 and collided head-on with a tree. Vehicle was totaled. Driver suffered cuts and bruises and denied any medical attention. Coast Towing removed the vehicle. Driver was cited for driving with a suspended license status. ODOT assisted at the scene.

E-Crash: Unit #1 had just turned left onto US-101 and was beginning southbound where he had lost power steering. The driver then crashed the front left portion of his vehicle into a median near milepost 127.5 on US-101 in Depoe Bay. The driver had some pain from the crash but did not need to be transported. Car Care towing arrived to remove the vehicle.

Narrative Summary
ecrash only: A two-vehicle injury crash occurred on SR-18 near milepost 5 when the operator of Unit #1, a 1999 Toyota 4runner, which was traveling eastbound attempted to pass a vehicle stopped behind Unit #2, a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, which was attempting to turn left from the eastbound lane into a residential driveway. The operator of Unit #1 was unable to stop before striking the rear left passenger door and rear wheel of Unit #2. The operator of Unit #2 was transported to the Hospital in Lincoln City for injuries. The operator of Unit #1 was uninjured. The operator of Unit #1 was issued citations for careless driving, driving while suspended violation, driving uninsured and several warrants for his arrest were cleared by Lincoln County Deputies. Unit #2 was towed from the scene by Car Care towing. Unit #1 was towed from the scene by a private party. Both vehicles were totaled.

Narrative Summary
(ecrash) On 2/14/21 I was dispatched to a single vehicle crash involving a green Toyota Corolla (REB267) on US 20 near mile post 2. Unit #1 was eastbound and negotiating a curve in rainy conditions when the vehicle began to hydroplane. The vehicle crossed the opposing lane of travel before it regained traction and drove off the eastbound shoulder. The vehicle struck a curb on the eastbound shoulder and came to an uncontrolled rest partially blocking the eastbound lane. No one was injured in the crash. The driver was cited for No Insurance. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Coast Towing.

Narrative Summary
On 2/14/21 at approximately 9:46 pm I was dispatched to a single vehicle crash, involving a black Nissan Maxima (Washington BTF6939), on US 20 near mile post. Unit #1 was eastbound and negotiating back to back curves in rainy conditions when the vehicle lost traction and slid off the eastbound shoulder coming to an uncontrolled rest approximately 30 feet down an embankment on the river bank. Upon contact, the driver smelled strongly of alcohol and exhibited signs of impairment. The driver consented to and performed poorly on SFST’s. The driver was taken into custody and transported to Lincoln County Jail where he consented to a breath test rendering a result of .12% BAC. The driver was cited and released on charges of DUII – Alcohol, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering and Fail to Carry and Present an Operator’s License. The driver was cited additionally for No Operator’s License, No Insurance and Minor in Possession. The vehicle was recovered and towed from the scene by Coast Towing.

Narrative Summary
E-Crash: A Nissan Sentra was driving southbound on US-101 near milepost 121. Witnesses described the Nissan as following too closely to a Buick LeSabre. The driver of the Buick began brake checking the Nissan at least twice where the Nissan then crashed into the rear-end of the Buick. A Dodge Grand Caravan following to the rear of the Nissan swerved to the right to avoid. A Dodge pickup following to the rear of the Dodge Grand Caravan swerved to the right as well but struck the back right corner of the Nissan. No injuries occurred. The Nissan was towed by Car Care Towing to their lot. The driver of the Nissan was issued a citation for following too closely. The driver of the Buick was issued a citation for Impeding Traffic.
