Narrative Summary
I responded to the Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital to investigate a single vehicle crash that occurred on SR-18 near milepost 7. The driver and sole occupant was transported via ambulance prior to my arrival and was receiving emergency medical care upon my arrival in the emergency room. An investigation revealed the operator was impaired at the time of the crash and he was arrested for DUII/CS. The driver consented to provide blood and urine via Implied Consent. Additionally, the driver received a criminal citation for unlawful possession of more than 2 grams of methamphetamine. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Narrative Summary
On 2/2/21 at approximately 4:30 pm I was dispatched to a driving complaint of a silver Subaru bearing California plate 8LNX001 southbound on US 101 through Depoe Bay. I located this vehicle southbound near milepost 135 and stopped the vehicle after observing it fail to maintain its lane. Upon contact the driver exhibited signs of impairment and smelled of alcohol. The driver consented to and performed poorly on SFST’s. She was taken into custody for DUII. During a vehicle search an open container of whiskey was located under the passenger seat. The driver was transported to Lincoln County Jail where she consented to a breath test rendering a result of .17% BAC. The driver was cited and released for DUII – Alcohol and Reckless Driving. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Rowley’s Towing.

Narrative Summary
On 2/2/21 at approximately 8:54 pm I assisted Newport Police to locate an intoxicated male in the parking lot of the Little Creek Apartments. A named complainant reported the male had driven to the apartments and appeared intoxicated. I located the described vehicle, a red Dodge truck (397MCR), and found the male was seated inside with the vehicle running. Upon contact with the driver he appeared extremely intoxicated and smelled strongly of alcohol. The driver admitted he drove to the location and stated he had no alcohol to drink since leaving his residence in central Newport. The driver consented to and performed poorly on SFST’s. The driver was taken into custody and transported to Lincoln County Jail where he consented to a breath test, rendering a result of .31% BAC. The driver was cited and released for DUII – Alcohol.

Narrative Summary
On 2/3/21 at approximately 445AM I was called out to a crash near milepost 28 of US Highway 20, east of Eddyville, Oregon. A westbound vehicle had crashed off of the eastbound shoulder. The driver was evaluated and refused any medical treatment. The driver admitted to consuming whiskey and told me she would fail field sobriety tests. Subject showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody. Subject was transported to Lincoln County Jail and provided a breath sample measuring a .24% BAC. Subject was cited and released for DUI Alcohol. Coast Towing recovered the vehicle.

ecrash only: A two vehicle non-injury crash occurred on SR34 near milepost 3 when the driver of a blue 2000 Honda Civic tried to turn left into the driveway of King Silver RV Park and Marina and struck a blue 1995 Jeep Cherokee in the driver door area. The driver of the Cherokee stated he saw the driver of the Honda slowing and signaling a left turn across his lane and then he just pulled directly in front of him. The Cherokee skidded and slid sideways and the Honda struck it. The driver of the Honda stated he was slowing to turn and looking at his speedometer to make sure he was slow enough to turn and when he turned the other vehicle was right there. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to damage. The driver of the Honda was cited for dangerous left turn.

Narrative Summary
E-Crash: A Subaru Legacy was stopped at the intersection of Siletz Highway and US-101. The driver of the Subaru proceeded to take a left turn onto US-101 in front of a northbound traveling Acura MDX SUV. The vehicles crashed and the Subaru came to a complete stop in the southbound lane of travel. One to two minutes later a southbound traveling Ford Van was unable to see the disabled Subaru and crashed into it while it was unoccupied, except for the driver’s dog whom survived. The Subaru was towed by Car Care. The Ford and Acura were towed by Rowley’s Towing. The driver of the Ford, the driver of the Acura, and the passenger of the Acura were transported by ambulance to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital to be treated. The driver of the Subaru was issued a citation for failing to obey a traffic control device (not yielding the right of way).
