The Southwest Lincoln County Water PUD, one of the oldest water districts on the central Oregon coast, has hired its first district manager.
Tui Anderson started Jan. 14.
The district had been led by field and office managers. The new position combines responsibility for all operations, under the direction of the five-member elected board.
Anderson has been involved in water utilities and support organizations for the past two decades, working in Hawaii, Idaho and Oregon. For the past two years he lived in Silverton and led a company that developed a water loss calculation application.
The Southwest Lincoln district serves more than 1,250 homes and businesses along the coast from the south end of Waldport to the city limits of Yachats. he population served can fluctuate from approximately 2,000 people in the winter to approximately 6,000 people in the summer.
The district is observing its 75th anniversary this year.
