Narrative Summary
On 10/19/20 at approximately 6:38 pm I was dispatched to a single vehicle, rollover crash which occurred on SR 34 near mile post 23. According to a witness statement, a red Jeep SUV (OR 766JKE) was westbound and exiting a curve when it drove into the opposing lane before over-correcting and crashing into an earthen embankment on the westbound shoulder. The vehicle flipped end-over-end and came to an uncontrolled rest blocking the westbound lane. During a crash interview the driver exhibited numerous signs of impairment. The driver and passenger were transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center for treatment. A hospital toxicology panel rendered a presumptive positive result for presence of methamphetamine in the driver’s urine. Narrative Summary
On 10/25/2020 at approximately 8:32 PM, I responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred on US-101 near MP 133. The vehicle involved was a silver Cadillac SRX. A passerby had witnessed the crash and stopped prior to my arrival to assist the driver. This passerby also reported this crash to NCC. According to this witness the vehicle was operated by a male driver, and he declined needing medical assistance. The driver was also the sole occupant of the vehicle. When I arrived on scene, the vehicle was in an uncontrolled rest 15 feet off the west shoulder of the road into some trees. The car was barely visible from the roadway. The vehicle was also unoccupied when I arrived. I spoke to the witness again, who was able to provide me with a description of the driver. I attempted to follow up with the driver at his address, but was unable to make contact. Coast Towing recovered the vehicle and towed it to their lot. The investigation is currently on-going.
