Contractors on Thursday finished paving two Yachats streets, the culmination of three large road projects this summer.
Road & Driveway crews paved 240 feet of West First Street on Thursday morning and then finished the day paving East Second Street between Prospect Street and U.S. Highway 101, behind the Drift Inn restaurant and motel. There is still cleanup and some final touches line striping to finish.
Devils Lake Rock Co. of Lincoln City had the $103,000 contract to install a storm drain system, rebuild the base and pave First Street west of Pontiac Street and the $90,000 contract to rebuild and pave the one-way portion of Second Street from Prospect to Highway 101.
The last of paving projects for the summer came after Lincoln County finished paving Ocean View Drive north and east of Yachats State Park as part of an agreement to turn ownership of the road over to the city of Yachats.
It’s been several years since the city initiated any paving or street projects.
